BOOK REVIEW: Schism, Sparks Saga (Book Three), RS McCoy

I’ve been a little behind on getting my book reviews out, so here is the first to share with you. I read this at the end of March and of course, I loved the story.

Blurb: A Nation at War. A Gifted Mind-reader. A Ruthless Queen. Schism is a young adult epic fantasy for fans of Air Awakens, the Trylle series, and Graceling.

“Keeping them alive was harder than I ever thought possible.”

The devoted lover and proud father Lark is on the verge of losing it all. His abilities are slowly fading without reason and his enemies are looming ever closer. He has mere days to prepare for war and earn the allegiance of the Nakben tribes, none of which are eager to fight for a foreign queen.

With his life and family hanging in the balance, Lark enters enemy territory, but he doesn’t realize just how weak he’s become.

Review: Book three in this saga picked up immediately where book two ended. There are no gaps in time which is always nice. McCoy has once again created a story that draws you in and doesn’t let go! Her world is realistic enough you believe it to be true and her characters are near flawless. Her craft is well-honed and should be appreciated by all!

Lark goes on a journey that will again change his life and the lives of all he loves. Khea lets Lark grow while remaining the regal Queen she has become. Their lives are never dull and the ending will just rip your heart out. I will admit I should’ve seen it coming but I didn’t want to and therefore was actually upset, no angry! I didn’t want that ending but can totally appreciate and respect it.

For love, adventure, this fantasy / supernatural story takes on a challenge and doesn’t let go one bit! If you want action, adventure, romance all mixed in with fantasy and supernatural I highly recommend this series!

Schism gets 5 stars!
